Whitesnake Rock the City
9th December 2011
Whitesnake's lead singer David Coverdale may have just celebrated his 60th birthday but that guy still knows how to rock a venue! His on-stage charisma and flirting with the pretty girls in the crowd were as much a part of the evening as his loud rasping vocals, the band's face-melting guitar solos and stunningly wild drumming.
He was joined on stage by ex-band guitarist Bernie Marsden, who the years have not been quite so kind to as Coverdale, but he can still show the young upstart lead guitarist a trick or two!
Coverdale struts the stage like he owns it, running his hand down his still slim frame and through his long mane of hair. Talking of which, I tried to work out the total inches of hair on stage...must be several feet!
A nice touch at the end of the 2 hour long gig was when Santa came on stage and threw presents to the crowd, and the whole band sang acapella-style "We're Dreaming of a White(snake) Christmas".
Well done to the Civic Hall for staging this the last gig of a 9-month long tour, and one of only three in this country. May Whitesnake return to rock the city very soon!
