Eat in Wolverhampton 2011 Launch
Eat in Wolverhampton 2011 guide was officially launched at the Bilash restaurant on Friday 11th March. The first edition proved hugely popular with thousands of vouchers being used in the city’s restaurants. This new guide not only features some familiar names from the Wolverhampton food and drink scene but also welcomes newcomers such as Diva Indian Restaurant and the Philadelphia Flyer Café and Sandwich Bar.
This handy pocket-sized guide showcases the best places to eat and drink in and around Wolverhampton, and it comes with 11 pages of money off vouchers along with detailed profiles of dozens of establishments throughout the city.
Eat in Wolverhampton is jointly produced by WVone and Wolverhampton City Council, providing visitors, workers and residents the chance to enjoy a variety of restaurants, bars and cafes.
Kim Gilmour, City Centre Manager, said: "Eat in Wolverhampton will help to raise the profile of local businesses and also encourage people to support them - and by taking advantage of the discount vouchers customers can ensure they are getting great value for money too.”
Eat in Wolverhampton is available for free from restaurants, bars, cafes, the Information Point at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, the Civic Centre, Midland Box Office and various leisure outlets around the city. It can also be downloaded here and will soon be available in MP3 format.
The event also marked the launch of the city’s entry in this year’s Curry Capital of Britain competition, building on the success of last year when Wolverhampton scooped 3rd place ahead of 5th place local rival Birmingham. The certificates were presented to the winning restaurants team and were accepted by Sitab Khan for the Bilash, Sam Hussain for Cafe Rickshaw and Shan Herian for the Red Fort. Sadly the Malabar restaurant was unable to attend on the day.
